Bismack Biyombo

Bismack Biyombo is an NBA player from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He was born on August 28th, 1992 in Lubumbashi, and started playing basketball at the age of 16. His career began with a professional team from his hometown before he signed a two year deal with Spanish powerhouse Fuenlabrada in 2009. After impressing scouts with his athleticism and defensive ability, Biyombo was selected 7th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) in 2011 NBA Draft.

Throughout his career, Biyombo has become known for his tenacious defense and hustle plays on both ends of the court. He earned himself a reputation as one of the best rim protectors in the league during his time with Toronto Raptors where he averaged 1 block per game over 4 seasons. In addition to being an elite defender, he is also an effective rebounder averaging 6 rebounds per game throughout his career so far.

In 2016-17 season as part of Toronto Raptors starting lineup , Biyombo went on to have one of most successful campaigns averaging 5 points 8 rebounds and 1 block per game . This success earned him multiple accolades including All-Defensive Second Team selection and Eastern Conference Player Of The Week award that same year . Unfortunately however this would be final season that he’d spend with Toronto Raptors as they chose not to re-sign him due to salary cap constraints following offseason.

After short stints with Orlando Magic & Charlotte Hornets (second time around), Bismack eventually found new home in Chicago Bulls organization where he currently plays role off bench providing valuable minutes back up center position when called upon . Throughout 2019/20 campaign ,he’s averaged 3 points 5 rebounds along while shooting 51 percent from field through 17 games played thus far .

During offseasons ,Bismack is actively involved philanthropic endeavors within DR Congo or various other African countries which include founding youth basketball academies or carrying out medical missions aimed at helping those less fortunate then himself . Aside from philanthropy activities ,he’s also heavily invested technology startups like Hello Tractor which seeks provide farmers living rural Africa access modern agricultural equipment at affordable costs among other initiatives across continent ..
