Brayan Bello, a prolific Dominican professional baseball player, was born on May 17, 1999. Standing tall and strong at 6 feet 1 inch, weighing 195 pounds, Brayan is a right-handed pitcher and batter. He marked the beginning of his professional baseball career as an aspirant when he signed with the Boston Red Sox in July 2017. The Boston Red Sox is a part of the illustrious Major League Baseball.

The year 2018 marked Bello’s first professional season with the Red Sox. He started his journey in the Dominican Summer League team, from where he was promoted to the Gulf Coast League Red Sox. His career took the next vital leap in 2019 as he played for the Single-A Greenville Drive, bagging a win-loss record of 5–10 in 25 games. In the course of these games, he accomplished a promising 5.43 earned run average (ERA), displaying remarkable consistency in striking out 119 batters in 117+2⁄3 innings pitched.

On May 5, he played a memorable seven-inning no-hitter against the Reading Fightin Phils in a doubleheader game, writing his name to the Sea Dog History as the fifth player accomplishing a no-hitter.

Boston Red Sox announced on July 4, 2022, that Brayan would be promoted to the major league baseball for the first time. During the first big League debut on July 6 against Tampa Bay Rays, Bello had to swallow the bitter pill of loss after allowing four runs on six hits in four innings. Post that, he started another game on July 11 before being optioned back to Worcester. His major league promotion led to his replacement on the roster of the 2022 All-Star Futures Game.

Brayan Bello’s memorable six scoreless innings against Texas Rangers earned him his first major league victory. During the 2022 season, he achieved a 2–8 record in 13 games and an ERA of 4.71 while striking out 55 batters in 57+1⁄3 innings. In minor-league games, he accomplished a 10–4 record with a 2.34 ERA. These stats led the Red Sox to name him the minor league Starting Pitcher of the Year again.

Bello began the 2023 season grappling with right elbow inflammation which led to his placement on the injured list. However, he was back in action on April 17. Following a tough spell with a 9.82 ERA in two starts, he was swiftly moved back to Worcester on April 24. During the 2023 season, Bello appeared in 28 major league games and posted a 12–11 record with a 4.24 ERA, striking out 132 batters in 157 innings.

On March 9, 2024, he bagged a six-year, $55 million contract extension from the Red Sox, along with an option for a seventh year at $21 million. Starting the season with high spirits, he was named the team’s starting pitcher for the opening day. However, a back injury forced him to the injured list in late April. He recovered and returned to the playing field on May 12.
