Thomas Breese is an English professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was born on February 23, 1992 in Birmingham, England. He began his amateur career in 2010 and competed for various promotions including BAMMA, Cage Warriors and UCMMA before signing with the UFC in 2015.
At only 26 years of age Tom Breese has achieved great success as a professional fighter. Breese made his professional debut at BAMMA 7: Fighting Takes Guts on October 15th 2011 where he won via TKO just 33 seconds into Round 1 against Luke Newman. Since then he went 9-0 until signing with the UFC in 2015 and has since gone 3-2 in five fights with them so far.
In 2013 he signed for Cage Warriors to compete for their Middleweight title against Che Mills but after sustaining an injury during training camp he had to pull out of what would have been his first major title fight appearance. Later that year at ACB 6: Manchester vs London on December 21st 2013 Tom fought Denniston Sutherland and won via submission (Rear Naked Choke) 2 minutes and 36 seconds into Round 1 securing himself a Knockout Of The Night bonus award from ACB .
Breese’s next big opportunity came when he signed with the UFC on July 29th 2015 following four consecutive wins over tough opposition outside of the octagon such as Valentino Petrescu, Cathal Pendred and Thibault Gouti amongst others.. After making his promotional debut as part of ‘UFC Fight Night 72: Bisping vs Leites’ at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena; Tom managed to secure a Performance Of The Night Bonus Award after submitting Luiz Dutra Junior due to punches 4 minutes 24 seconds into Round 2 earning him $50K USD additionally to base pay or win bonuses usually commanded by UFC fighters depending upon performance across all rounds under rule guidelines set by each state athletic commission & broadcast partner amongst other factors .
On April 8 2017 Tom faced Oluwale Bamgbose at UFC 210 going down 46-51 48-47 49-46 respectively according to judges scorecards proving even if not victorious still able to showcase how powerful standup striking can be along ground skill despite losing this decisioned based matchup .
