Themba “The Answer”Gorimbo

Themba Gorimbo is a Zimbabwean mixed martial artist who competed in the UFC’s welterweight division under the nickname “Mamba.” He made his UFC debut in February 2023 and trained at MMA Masters in Miami, Florida. UFC lists him at 6 feet 1 inch and identifies him as a former EFC welterweight champion and blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. His UFC career included notable victories over Takashi Sato, Pete Rodriguez, Ramiz Brahimaj and Niko Price, with a style built around determined pressure, grappling and submission offense.

Gorimbo announced his retirement from MMA as an athlete on May 21, 2026, following a split-decision loss to Jonathan Micallef at UFC Perth on May 2, 2026. In his retirement message, he said his focus would shift toward family and left open the possibility of eventually working as a coach or manager. His story also drew widespread attention after Dwayne Johnson helped him obtain a home in Florida following Gorimbo’s early UFC struggles. As of September 22, 2026, Gorimbo should be described as retired from active competition rather than as a current UFC fighter.
