Stefan Sekulic is a professional MMA fighter currently competing in the UFC. He was born and raised in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 4, 1985. Stefan began his martial arts journey at the age of 16 when he started training kickboxing. After four years of kickboxing, he moved on to Muay Thai where he really found success. At 22 years old, Stefan moved to Croatia to compete professionally in Muay Thai and quickly became one of the top fighters in all of Europe.
In 2011 Stefan decided to switch gears from just Muay Thai and expand into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He joined Team FFA based out of Zagreb, Croatia where he trained with some great coaches like Branko Cikatic and Damir Mihajlovic. During this time Stefan also worked as a personal fitness coach with clients ranging from everyday people looking to stay fit, to professional athletes trying to reach peak performance levels for their sport. His impressive performances in both coaching sessions as well as MMA fights earned him recognition throughout Europe which ultimately led him signing a contract with Bellator MMA in 2014.
From 2014-2015 Stephan competed exclusively for Bellator winning 8 out of 10 fights before deciding it was time for a new challenge – The UFC! In 5 months Stephan went from being an unknown regional fighter living overseas; To making his debut inside the octagon against Ion Cutelaba at UFC Fight Night 91 on July 13th 2016 winning via unanimous decision after 3 rounds war! This fight skyrocketed his career and earned him ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors along with an extra $50k bonus paycheck!
Stephan continued competing inside the octagon until August 2019 when he announced retirement due medical issues that were causing too much damage during trainings & fights so after almost four year streak under UFC banner (14 wins & 2 losses) Stephan left 6 weeks before being able turn 33 year old… However even though Stephan officially retired there are rumors going around that suggest his doctor has cleared him physically now so we could see one more comeback fight soon enough… Only time will tell how true those rumors are but regardless stephan remains an inspiration figure & role model not only due fighting achievements but due everything else outside cage… Being generous person donating money whenever there’s humanitarian crisis or helping fellow fighters who need advice on managing their careers through experience gained over last decade+… All things considered it would be pretty awesome if we got chance witness one More Stepan Sekulic fight..
