Shane Young is a New Zealand mixed martial artist who fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He began his MMA career in 2012 and has shown consistent improvement. His current record stands at 12-4, with 11 of those wins coming by way of finish.

Young grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and started training Martial Arts at the age of 15. He trained Muay Thai for several years before switching to MMA when he was 22 years old. After spending some time on the amateur circuit, Young made his professional debut on October 6th 2012 under Kiwi FC promotion. He won all four of these bouts via knockout or submission and improved to 4-0 before signing with UFC in 2015.

Since joining UFC, Shane Young has established himself as one of their most successful featherweights from around the world. In 2017, he earned his first win in the octagon against Cole Miller at Fight Night 104 which helped him earn a Performance Of The Night bonus award alongside two consecutive Fight Of The Night awards for two back-to-back thrilling performances against Alexander Volkanovski and Rolando Dy respectively later that year.

In 2018 & 2019 Shane had victories over Austin Arnett & Omar Morales respectively to make it five straight wins inside UFC’s Octagon before losing a close split decision fight vs Luiz Garagorri at UFC Uruguay 2020 event where they both put up an incredible battle throughout 25 minutes but unfortunately judges gave nod towards Uruguayan fighter hence leaving New Zealander short handed after taking such an entertaining fight all night long! Despite this setback, Young showed tremendous heart and courage during this fight which ultimately earned him another ‘Fight Of The Night’ honor along with ‘Performance Of The Year’ nomination for 2019 season from various publications including ESPN & Sports Illustrated Magazine!

Currently 28 years old young gun is looking forward to reclaim his winning streak inside octagon by getting back into win column next chance he gets while also becoming one of best Featherweight competitors from Oceania region! Apart from being highly respected competitor within Octagon – Shane is now actively involved with numerous charities & supporting different organizations aiming to help youth within sporting field while expressing MMA values outside cage as well!
