BIOGRAPHY

Poliana Botelho is a professional mixed martial artist from Brazil who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is currently signed to the UFC and has been fighting professionally since 2012.

Botelho was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil on April 6th 1989. She began training in MMA at just 19 years old when she joined Claudio Coelho Team and trained under coach Claudio Coelho. Her natural talent earned her an invitation to compete in Muay Thai tournaments which she quickly excelled at and began her pathway into MMA.

In 2013 Poliana made her amateur debut winning by submission over Juliana Holanda at IFC 2: War Of The Titans In 2014, Botelho made her professional debut winning via TKO against Eliza de Souza Correa Gomes despite still being only 22 years old at the time of fight night. After two more victories, Botelho was signed by Invicta FC – one of the top all-female promotions in MMA around that time – where she went on to have four fights with two wins and two losses with submissions being her preferred method of victory for each fight.

In 2018, Poliana was invited to join the cast for Season 28 of The Ultimate Fighter reality television show but did not make it past week 4 due to injury suffered during a grappling session with another competitor on set; however it was still enough for Dana White to notice Poliana’s potential as a fighter and he offered her a contract while signing off on his way out after filming had wrapped up.
After joining UFC she won both fights against Pearl Gonzalez and Luana Carolina earning Fight Of The Night honors twice before dropping a unanimous decision loss against fellow Brazilian Ariane Carneli back in 2019 which marked one of only three losses throughout her entire career so far – one amateur loss back in 2013 plus pro losses against DeAnna Bennett & Ariane Carneli respectively, highlighting how since then Polianas improvement has accelerated dramatically especially considering almost 9 out 10 victories are either by submission or knockout demonstrating how well roundedness is also part of what makes this fighter such an impressive athlete within the sport today .

Polianas current record stands at 11-3 with 8 wins coming by submission/ko/tko methods showcasing this brilliant fighters ability inside the cage Now 30 years old, Bothelhos future seems even brighter than before as consistently improving skills combined along with growing fanbase will no doubt push this formidable force ahead within UFC ranks making its next few bouts surely ones you would not want miss out seeing live!
