Luis Pena is a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) athlete and fighter who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He currently fights within the Lightweight division of the UFC, where he has found success with his dynamic and aggressive style.

Born on August 8th, 1995 in San Antonio Texas; Luis Pena was raised by his single mother who worked hard to support him and ensure he could pursue his dreams of becoming an MMA champion. From a young age, Luis was passionate about martial arts, spending much of his time studying various disciplines such as Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing. At fifteen years old Luis decided to take up MMA professionally, competing locally in shows across Texas. After several successful amateur bouts Pena made decision to turn professional at only eighteen years old.

In 2013 at only eighteen years of age he took part in numerous local promotions before joining Bellator MMA in 2014 where competed exclusively for three straight years until 2017 when he departed from the promotion after reaching an impressive 5-1 record that included four knockouts. After leaving Bellator, Pena wasted no time transitioning into another organization; this one being Dana White’s Contender Series where he won over officials resulting landing himself a contract with UFC later that year 2017 when signed with them officially just two months after appearing on their show . During his first fight for UFC against Steven Peterson at Fight Night 133 Luis showed off his brilliant showmanship earning himself coveted “Performance Of The Night Honors” award due to knockout finish fourth round via head kick followed by punches making him first person win via knockout night then had successful follow up fight against Richie Smullen winning unanimously judges scorecards taking second consecutive “Performance Of The Night Honors” award following another dominant performance .

Following successful start career inside octagon continued 2019 having total six fights over period two year including wins over Mike Trizano Matt Wiman most recently Season 3 lightweight tournament winner Khabib Nurmagomedov protégé Movsar Evloev last July achieving impressive unanimous decision victory this win lead shot title contention towards end 2020 but unfortunately didn’t happen mainly due injury sustained during training camp causing postpone rest planned fights till early 2021 despite setback still looks forward building momentum start 2021 hopes make statement inside octagon entering championship rounds soon possible .
