Leah Letson is an American mixed martial artist who currently fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She made her professional debut in 2012 and has since gone on to become one of the most promising up-and-coming fighters in all of MMA.
Letson was born and raised in Michigan, where she developed a passion for combat sports at a young age. She began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu when she was 19, then went on to compete extensively in kickboxing and boxing. In 2015, Letson competed as an amateur MMA fighter where she won four out of five fights.
In 2016, her hard work paid off when she signed with Invicta FC—the premiere all-female MMA promotion—where she went 2–1 before transitioning to the UFC in 2019. Since joining the UFC’s ranks, Letson has had three impressive wins over some tough competition including Justine Kish and Mara Romero Borella.
The 5′ 7″ featherweight stands out from other fighters due to her unique style; combining elements from kickboxing, boxing and wrestling into a mixture that creates chaos for opponents both standing up or on the ground. Her relentless nature combined with her athleticism helps make up for what appears to be lacking power punches – but don’t let that fool you because Leah can still lay down serious damage when needed!
Outside of fighting, Leah is passionate about giving back; through charity events or using her platform online to help spread awareness about important issues like mental health or animal cruelty prevention. When not training/fighting/giving back you can usually find Lettson relaxing by going fishing or engaging in other outdoor activities – proving once again why this humble warrior is such an inspiration both inside and outside of the cage.
