Hu Yaozong is a Chinese Mixed Martial Artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born and raised in China, Hu was introduced to martial arts at an early age and began competing professionally at the age of 18. In his eight years as a professional fighter, Hu has earned numerous accolades and titles such as being crowned WLF Featherweight Champion in 2015 and KOTC Bantamweight Champion in 2017.
Known for his technical striking ability and ground game, Hu is considered one of the most talented fighters from Asia to compete in the UFC. He began his career with a victory over Zhang Lipeng by TKO at One FC’s “Rise of Heroes” event back in 2014. He then made his way into several promotions including Road FC where he picked up three wins before making it into UFC through The Ultimate Fighter: China Finale.
Throughout his time as an MMA competitor, Hu has faced some of the toughest opponents on both domestic and international stages including top names like Li Jingliang, Tim Means, Yushin Okami and James Krause. His biggest win came against former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos whom he defeated via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 125 held back in February 2018. That win earned him Performance of the Night honors along with Fight of the Night honors which further cemented him as one of Asia’s best fighters within UFC ranks today.
In addition to competing inside octagon walls, outside activities have also been part of Hu’s MMA journey thus far. Throughout 2016-17 he trained Jiu Jitsu under coach Fabio Andrade thereby improving upon his already deep ground game arsenal which includes multiple submission wins throughout career so far.. Recently he also established himself as one half wrestling coach duo alongside Apollo Challou whom they will be preparing Brazilian athletes for their upcoming bouts while evolving their own techniques simultaneously..
With 16 victories out 19 fights overall so far under various banners including 9 finishes among them this Beijing native plans on continuing his rise towards top rankings within featherweight division while pushing boundaries there by representing both country & sport on international level all across globe..
