Hailey Cowan is an American professional mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is a former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion and a two-time Bellator MMA fighter.

Cowan began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu at age 12, while living in her hometown of Spokane, Washington. At 16 she decided to pursue a career as a professional MMA fighter and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to train with famed coach John Wood at Xtreme Couture. In 2009 she made her amateur debut, winning all five bouts before turning pro in 2011.

In 2014 Cowan signed with Invicta Fighting Championships and quickly rose up the ranks, becoming the Bantamweight Champion after defeating Tonya Evinger via TKO in 2016. During her time with Invicta she also competed against high profile fighters such as Sarah Kaufman, Alexa Grasso and Tonya Evinger; earning five wins during that period of time.

Prior to joining UFC in 2018, Cowan fought for Bellator twice; firstly against Brooke Mayo which resulted in a unanimous decision win for Cowan and secondly against Marciea Allen which ended it draw after three rounds due to an accidental headbutt from Allen late into the third round causing the fight’s end prematurely by referee stoppage .

Following this fight It was announced that Hailey had signed on for UFC 246 where she faced off against Aspen Ladd but lost via technical knockout just 49 seconds into Round 1 following multiple punches by Ladd followed by ground & pound shots forcing referee Herb Dean to call off the bout . In 2020 Hailey faced Julia Avilia at UFC Fight Night 176 but lost via submission due to Avilia’s rear naked choke hold 50 seconds into Round 2 giving Avilia her 7th consecutive victory inside the octagon making it two losses out of two fights since joining UFC . Cowan has now amassed an impressive record of 10-3-1 across all divisions including four wins by KO/TKO , one win by submission , four wins through decisions and only one defeat coming through submission ; proving herself powerful capable competitor who gives no quarter when locked inside Octagon cage .
