BIOGRAPHY
Gian Villante is a professional mixed martial artist from the United States who currently competes in the light heavyweight division of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is known for his high-level striking and grappling skills. At 33 years of age, it’s safe to say he has achieved quite a bit in this sport already.
Gian was born on Long Island, New York, and he had an early passion for combat sports even as a young child. As soon as he turned 18 years old, Gian started to pursue MMA professionally. Since then he has trained with some of the best trainers at many different gyms across the US such as American Top Team (ATT), Renzo Gracie Academy and Serra-Longo Fight Team.
Throughout his professional career so far Gian has competed regularly against some of the best names in UFC light heavyweight divisions such as Ryan Bader, Patrick Cummins and Ovince Saint Preux among others. His most significant wins have included victories over Corey Anderson via split decision at UFC 196 and Sean O’Connell via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 74
When not competing inside the octagon Gian spends time training alongside fellow fighters like Aljamain Sterling and Chris Weidman while also helping other athletes reach their goals through coaching sessions at Bellmore Kickboxing Academy where he serves as head wrestling coach & conditioned strength/martial arts coach since 2012. He also holds seminars throughout different states teaching students how to correctly apply wrestling techniques into their mixed martial arts gameplans in hopes that they can become better mixed martial artists themselves one day.
