BIOGRAPHY

Felipe Dos Santos is one of the most recognizable names in mixed martial arts. A native of Brazil, Dos Santos has been competing professionally since 2007 and has earned a reputation as one of the top middleweight fighters in the world. He currently fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and is considered by many to be a legitimate title contender at 185 pounds.

Dos Santos began his career on the regional Brazilian circuit before making his way to Japan’s Shooto organization, where he found some success with four wins in five bouts. It wasn’t until 2011 that he made his UFC debut, when he won an impressive unanimous decision over former Pride FC champion Carlos Newton at UFC 130. Since then, Dos Santos has gone 8-4 inside the Octagon and become known as one of MMA’s best jiu-jitsu practitioners thanks to slick submissions like his triangle choke victory over Edson Barboza at UFC 163 or rear naked chokes like what he used against Mairbek Taisumov at Fight Night 81.

Throughout his nine-year professional career, Felipe dos Santos has competed against some of MMA’s biggest stars including Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida and Junior dos Santos among others. In 2017 alone, Felipe scored victories over Oluwale Bamgbose via submission and Marthin Hamlet successfully defended via split decision; both fights took place inside The Octagon during UFC events held in Scotland and Poland respectively. Despite being knocked out twice by Derek Brunson last year after an epic three round war between them which saw each fighter trade blows for nearly fifteen minutes only for Brunson to eventually land a vicious head kick that sent dos Santos crashing onto canvas suffering from a concussion injury; it must be noted that despite those losses “The Filipino Phenom” still looked pretty solid during this epic battle demonstrating why many fans consider him not just good but great martial artist who will never give up no matter how tough things get!

As we look ahead to 2019 its likely that Felipe dos Santos will get back into action sooner rather than later as recent reports have indicated The Filipino Phenom could make his return sometime later this year possibly taking on other well renowned middleweights such as Francis Ngannou or Yoel Romero depending on how negotiations go once they start taking place within next few months – if so then undoubtedly it should prove interesting match up indeed since these two men are considered amongst cream crop elite fighters division!
