BIOGRAPHY

Don Madge is an MMA fighter from Cape Town, South Africa. He currently competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Madge started his martial arts career training in kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 14. At 17, he had his first amateur fight and was crowned South African Amateur Kickboxing Champion in 2011. That same year, he turned professional and competed for various promotions such as Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC) Africa. During this time, Madge won multiple titles including EFC Lightweight Interim World Champion in 2013.

In 2017, Madge signed with UFC and made his debut at UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs Till on March 17th 2018 where he faced Teemu Packalen. He won the fight by a submission via rear-naked choke during round one which earned him Performance of the Night honors. Following this victory, Madge fought fellow South African Sodiq Yusuff at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale on July 6th 2018 where he lost by unanimous decision after three rounds.

After taking a break from competing due to injuries sustained during training camps for previous fights, Don returned to UFC action in 2019 with two back-to-back victories against Fares Ziam at UFC Fight Night: Shevchenko vs Carmouche 2 on August 10th 2019 and Te Edwards at UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs Waterson on October 12th 2019 both via unanimous decisions after three rounds each; earning him Performance of the Night awards for both fights respectively . Most recently , Don fought Frank Camacho who was making his return to lightweight division after spending over four years as a welterweight , winning by TKO (punches )in round 1 . This win earned him yet another Performance Of The night Award bringing up his total performance bonuses to 3 while establishing himself amongst top contenders in the light weight division ; winning 7 out 8 of his fights inside octagon so far .
