BIOGRAPHY
Dhiego Lima is an MMA fighter from Brazil, currently competing in the UFC’s welterweight division. Born and raised in Brazil, Lima started training martial arts at a young age and found success early on as an amateur competitor. After wining numerous local tournaments, he turned pro in 2008 and quickly established himself as one of the top Brazilian fighters with wins over notable opponents like Fabricio Monteiro and Neymar Jr..
In 2013, Lima began to make his name known worldwide when he competed in The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 reality show. He made it all the way to the finals where he lost a unanimous decision to Warlley Alves. This experience opened up many doors for him as he was immediately signed by Bellator after the show ended. While fighting for Bellator, Lima had several impressive performances including a highlight reel knockout of Ryan Ford at Bellator 138 that earned him “Knockout of the Year” honors from Sherdog Magazine.
In 2017, Dhiego made his debut with UFC when they purchased Strikeforce Fighting Championships which included some of his fights. Since then he has gone 4-4 while facing off against some tough opponents such as Court McGee, Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal who are all ranked higher than him on UFC’s rankings list today (April 2021). Even though his record isn’t stellar yet there have been flashes of greatness like when he knocked out Luke Jumeau with a spinning back kick at UFC 234 which showed why so many people believe that one day Dhiego will be champion material!
Outside of fighting Dhiego is also a successful business owner having started two gyms located around Rio de Janeiro called Prime Fitness Academy & Fight Fit Academy where lots of young aspiring athletes come to train under him or learn more about mixed martial arts from other qualified trainers that work there too! He also recently launched his own clothing brand aptly named “Lima Brand” which focuses on creating fashionable street wear for men & women who appreciate quality apparel with style!
At 30 years old Dhiego still has plenty left in the tank despite already having over 25 professional fights throughout both major promotions (Bellator & UFC). He seems determined not only to reach championship status but also give back more opportunities within combat sports especially since MMA is growing rapidly within South America right now thanks partly due too fighters like himself who prove every time they step into cage what true dedication looks like!
