BIOGRAPHY

Claudio Silva is a professional mixed martial artist who has competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on March 16th, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Silva began his training at the age of 13 and soon after he started competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Vale Tudo events. He made his MMA debut in 2004 and quickly became one of the top fighters out of Brazil with wins over some of the best names in the sport including Wanderlei Silva, Fabricio Werdum, and Murilo Bustamante. In 2008 he joined the UFC where he would go on to have an impressive 7-1 record with five wins coming by submission or knockout.

In addition to being an accomplished grappler, Claudio Silva is also known as “The Pride Of The Ghetto” for his humble origins growing up poor in a favela near Rio De Janeiro. Despite this challenging upbringing Claudio always had big dreams which included becoming a world class fighter just like his idols Royce Gracie, Anderson Silva and Wanderlei Silva all icons from Brazil.

Silva truly began to showcase his talents when UFC president Dana White brought him into The Ultimate Fighter Reality show season 10 which aired back in 2009 featuring Frank Mir vs Brock Lesnar as coaches for that season. Unfortunately for Claudio he lost both fights during that show but it surely gained more attention from fans around world who were captivated by Silvas resilience when facing adversity during those fights despite losing them both still showcasing high level skills inside cage against very high level opponents .

After exiting reality tv show , Claudio decided to continue pursuing career as professional fighter joining forces up with American Top Team teaming up with renowned head coach Ricardo Liborio while living down state Florida honing own skills alongside fellow greats such as Junior Dos Santos , Thiago Alves , Jorge Masvidal etc … Being part of strongest teams ever assembled proved beneficial since then since we went see 6 straight victories including most notably win over Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 147 earning Performance Of The Night Bonus award following brutal first round KO finish ! So far through 14 years long career span making pro debut back 2005 “Hannibal” has compiled impressive 22-4 record showcasing solid standup game along damaging ground game notching 17 finishes via either submission or KO/TKO !
