Cheyanne Buys is a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter who has been competing in the UFC since 2019. She fights in the featherweight division and carries an impressive record of 6 wins and just one loss. Born in St. George, Utah on October 31, 1996, Cheyanne began training in martial arts at a young age under her father’s guidance. She was a standout high school wrestler before winning two state championships during her senior year.
In 2018, Cheyanne made her professional MMA debut with an impressive first-round submission win over Kaela Banney at Invicta FC 32: Spencer vs Sorenson 2. The following year she joined Invicta as an amateur fighter and won every bout by knockout or submission to earn herself a contract with the UFC later that same year.
Her UFC debut came against Shana Dobson at UFC Fight Night 167: Anderson vs Błachowicz 2 where she secured another first-round knockout victory over her opponent to remain undefeated inside the octagon thus far. Following this victory, Cheyanne earned herself “Performance of the Night” honors from finally earning her much deserved recognition within UFC circles as well as being named Breakthrough Fighter of 2020 by MMAFighting magazine for all of her feat inside AND outside of the octagon such as taking time off to be part of Operation Underground Railroad helping rescue victims from human trafficking around the world!
