BIOGRAPHY
Charles Rosa is an American mixed martial artist from Boston, Massachusetts. He has been competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since 2014 and holds a professional record of 12-4.
Rosa was born on August 6th, 1987 in Chelsea, MA to Portuguese parents. He began training martial arts as a teenager with his father, who taught him karate at the local YMCA. In high school he became interested in boxing and jiu-jitsu and eventually competed in amateur MMA competitions around New England. In 2006 Charles moved to Miami FL where he enrolled into college and continued training at The Armory MMA gym while working full time as an auto mechanic. In 2010 he decided to leave college and pursue a career as a professional mixed martial artist joining American Top Team (ATT) which featured some of the best coaches & fighters available at that time such as former UFC champions such as Tyron Woodley & Joanna Jędrzejczyk among many others.. With ATT’s guidance Charles earned his brown belt under Ricardo Liborio (founder of ATT).
In 2014 Charles was signed by UFC after winning three consecutive fights for small promotions; two for CES MMA & one for Legacy FC respectively . On April 4th 2015 Charles made his official debut against Sean Soriano live on Fox Sports 1 winning by unanimous decision earning “Fight Of The Night” honors along with $50K bonus money! After four successful appearances inside the octagon including two TKO victories against Kyle Bochniak & Sean Shelby , with no losses ever recorded , it seemed like nothing could stop him from becoming champion but unfortunately life had other plans… During 2017 Rosa suffered from several injuries leaving him out of competition until 2019 when he returned against Bryce Mitchell losing via submission due to what seemed like an injury during the fight resulting in Torn labrum tear which required surgery sidelining him indefinitely…. Fast forward 2021 – Charles is currently healthy again focused on getting back into shape so can make another run inside the octagon soon …
As you can see Charlie Rosa has gone through highs and lows throughout his journey but never gave up achieving greatness along side many obstacles making us all proud! Even though current circumstances have not allowed Charlies full potential to be seen yet we are sure that we will witness amazing performance once more if given enough opportunity !
