BIOGRAPHY

Bruna Ellen Ribeiro (born June 24th, 1993), better known as Bruna Brasil, is a professional Brazilian mixed martial artist and current UFC strawweight competitor. She was born in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais and began training in karate at age nine. After excelling in various amateur MMA organizations around Brazil, she made her UFC debut against Paige VanZant on December 17th, 2015.

At the start of her career, Bruna quickly established herself as one of the top contenders for the women’s bantamweight division with three consecutive victories from 2014 to 2016 over Flavia Oliveira, Vanessa Porto and Ericka Almeida. This earned her a contract with Invicta Fighting Championships where she had an impressive three-fight winning streak before signing with UFC in 2017.

Although things didn’t go according to plan initially when she suffered two losses upon arriving at the promotion – losing both times to Jessica Andrade – since then Bruna has been nothing but dominant and has gone 8-0-1 within the organization including wins over Randa Markos by submission (armbar) in 2018 and recent back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Emily Whitmire and Karolline Rosa this past year. As of April 2021; she is currently ranked #5 among female competitors competing within the strawweight division.

Outside of fighting; Bruna is also very active on social media having amassed close to 300K followers combined on both Instagram & Twitter which have all allowed her fans to get an inside glimpse into her life outside of competing inside The Octagon®️ In addition, throughout 2020/2021 she featured in various projects such as being part of ad campaigns for brands like Nike alongside fellow Brazilian athletes plus collaborating with WE Charity by creating awareness about environmental conservation .

With more than ten years experience within martial arts combined with numerous accolades & accomplishments; it’s no surprise that after making waves down south – Bruna now looks poised for potential stardom here up north if given enough opportunities to showcase how talented a fighter & person she really is!
