BIOGRAPHY

Yazmin Jauregui is a professional mixed martial artist and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) athlete who competes in the flyweight division. She is a Mexican-American fighter with an impressive record of 5 wins, 1 loss and 0 draws.

Born on September 3, 1994 in Mexico City, Mexico, Yazmin grew up surrounded by martial arts from a young age. Her father was an amateur wrestler and her older brother was also passionate about combat sports which led to Yazmin’s initial interest in MMA as she watched them train. At just 14 years old she began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu under her father’s guidance at Team Italyo gym located in Mexico City.

At 17 years old Yazmin made her professional debut for the Combate Americas organization where she won two bouts via first round submission victories before signing with the UFC in 2020. In 2021, she made her octagon debut against Justine Kish at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs Neal where she went to a unanimous decision victory after three rounds of action. This win moved her into the official rankings at #14 on the UFC Flyweights list as well as being featured on ESPN Deportes’ “Mujeres de Combate” segment which documented female fighters within MMA and boxing promotion companies across Latin America such as Bellator and Combates Americas among others
In addition to competing professionally inside of cages/rings around the world; Yazmin also works full time outside of fighting -as a personal trainer at GYMBOX located in Los Angeles California- helping clients reach their fitness goals while continuing her own journey towards becoming one of the top fighters in women’s mixed martial arts. Outside of training for fights or coaching clients; Yazmin loves spending time outdoors whether it’s cliff jumping at beaches or exploring new cities during traveling opportunities that arise throughout fight camps etc… With an ever growing fan base behind her due to social media platforms such as Instagram (@yazminthefighter); there is clearly much more we are yet to see from this rising star!
