Ryan “The Wizard”Hall

Ryan Hall is an American mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner currently competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s lightweight division. A black belt under Marcos Flexa of 50/50 Jiu Jitsu, Hall is widely regarded as one of the greatest grapplers ever to compete in MMA.

Hall was born on November 3rd, 1985 in Annandale, Virginia and grew up practicing both wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu from a young age. He trained at Team Lloyd Irvin until 2007 where he earned his black belt under Marcos Flexa of 50/50 Jiu Jitsu. After earning his black belt, Ryan went on to have one of the most successful careers as a submission specialist in MMA history.

In 2009, Hall made his professional MMA debut at Absolute Fighting Championships 7: Extreme Beatdown. Over the course of four years he competed exclusively for AFC before signing with Strikeforce in 2013 where he won two fights before being released after two years due to lack of activity caused by injury issues throughout 2014 and 2015 . In 2016 hall signed with The Ultimate Fighter 22 reality show as part of team McGregor vs team Faber which ultimately ended up winning him a spot on UFC’s roster despite not having fought in over 2 years prior to that point.
Halls UFC debut came against Artem Lobov at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale where he submitted him via heel hook late into round 2 making it his first win since joining UFC along with fastest finish record for BJJ competitors inside octagon (2 min 16 seconds). Following that win hall has gone 2-1 inside octagon while also maintaining top 10 ranking with all three wins coming out via submission showcasing why Ryan Hall is widely respected amongst BJJ community and continues to be one active member striving towards becoming champion within next few years!
