BIOGRAPHY

Guido Cannetti is a celebrated veteran of the UFC and one of Argentina’s most beloved fighters. He has been fighting professionally for almost ten years, with his first professional bout being in 2011 when he won the South American MMA Tournament by submission. Over the course of his career, he has fought in numerous promotions including M-1 Global, Fight Site Championship and Bellator Fighting Championships.

Cannetti was born on October 2nd, 1985 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began training martial arts at age 13 after seeing an advertisement for a Shaolin Kung Fu Academy which piqued his interest. At that point he had already developed an affinity for combat sports as his family were all involved with boxing and kickboxing; thus it wasn’t long before Guido found himself competing in amateur combative tournaments across Buenos Aires province while still attending school full time. During this early stage of his career Guido competed mainly as a boxer but later moved to mixed martial arts which allowed him to utilize different striking and grappling techniques that better suited him personally as well as competitively.

Prior to entering the UFC Guido amassed an impressive record throughout various promotions such as M-1 Global where he held both the bantamweight title (2013) and featherweight title (2014). After several successful bouts against some notable opponents such Jorge Patino “Macaco”, Oleg Borisov and Sergey Bessonov it was only natural that Cannetti would be approached by UFC scouts who signed him just prior to their event at Rosario Arena on April 11th 2015 – making Guido one of four Argentinian athletes ever invited into the promotion up until then point .

While under contract with UFC Cannetti compiled an admirable record of 3 wins – 1 loss over 4 appearances with memorable victories coming over Japan’s Masanori Kanehara; Brazil’s Hugo Viana; Mexico’s Enrique Barzola – whom Cannetti defeated via guillotine choke just seconds into round two securing what would become known as “Submission Of The Night”. Having said that unfortunately things didn’t quite work out between Cannetti and UFC following dispute between fighter/promotion regarding fight purses & promotional activities leading up to matches resulting in both parties agreeing part ways amicably after much deliberation late 2017 ending what could have been promising run within world biggest MMA organization .

Following release from UFC former M-1 global champion decided focus solely on regional scene once again competing smaller organizations around Latin America & Asia building rather impressive streak defeating likes Rodney Wallace , Gustavo Balart & Alexandre Bezerra while also earning few more titles along way like Panam Combat Championship Featherweight Crown (2018) & Brazilian Vikings Amateur League Welterweight Title(2019). Despite somewhat short lived stay within octagon despite having recorded three wins inside cage over talented opponents can definitely say Argentine native proved himself capable performing highest levels mixed martial art competition proving why deserves recognition amongst best practitioners sport today ..
