BIOGRAPHY

Emily Whitmire is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on April 6, 1993 in Seattle, Washington, she began training at a young age. Her father is a master level karate black belt and her mother has been studying Judo for more than 20 years. This background gave Emily an early advantage in martial arts and she quickly developed into one of the top female fighters in her region.

After graduating from high school, Emily moved to Las Vegas to pursue a career as a professional MMA fighter. She trained with some of the best coaches and teams including Xtreme Couture MMA and Syndicate MMA Academy. During this time she also earned her purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under UFC Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture. With an impressive 4-1 amateur record that included two knockout victories, Emily decided it was time to make the leap into professional fighting.

In 2016 at just 23 years old, Emily signed with Invicta FC—the leading all-women’s promotion—to begin her pro career as part of their strawweight division (115 lbs). Over the next three years, Emily compiled five wins against four losses while competing against some of the toughest opponents on their roster; highlighted by controversial decision losses to highly ranked contenders Ashley Yoder and Livia Renata Souza for which many felt she should have won both fights easily had it not been for questionable judging decisions.

In June 2019 after honing her game at Invicta FC for over three years, news broke that 24 year old Emily had signed with UFC following their acquisition of Horizon Entertainment–Invicta FC’s parent company–earlier that year giving them access to many high quality fighters from women’s divisions previously unavailable due to contract restrictions preventing them from joining UFC prior. On August 10th 2019 after months of intense training alongside elite level athletes like former world champions Cody Garbrandt & TJ Dillashaw at Team Alpha Male headquarters near Sacramento California; UFC President Dana White announced via social media platforms that “The Spartan” would be making her long awaited debut inside The Octagon on October 12th when she takes on fellow up-and-comer Jamiee Harmon at UFC Fight Night 161 taking place inside Amalie Arena in Tampa Florida USA during International Fight Week festivities later that month live on ESPN+.

Since then Whitmire has gone 2-0 inside The Octagon compiling two impressive victories within six months earning a Performance Of The Night bonus along side unanimous decision win over opponent Mallory Martin back February 2020 last fight before COVID pandemic suspension temporarily put stop event held schedule forcing postponement several events since then (as writing) still yet return cage since defeating Martin half year ago looking forward continue great success whenever fighting resumes hope recent signing multibillionaire entertainment mogul Shane Compton will improve exposure provide additional resources needed reach higher heights sport world stage upcoming future leagues shows promise future bright always hungry prove doubters wrong hunger succeed remains ever present forever growing drive become champion inch closer new milestone every day watch
