BIOGRAPHY

Chas Skelly is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the UFC. He has a unique style that mixes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Greco-Roman wrestling. Growing up, Skelly was a standout wrestling talent at Allen High School in Texas, earning all-state honors in 2004 and 2005, before moving on to compete for Central Oklahoma University. While there he continued his success training with the Junior National Team and becoming two time All American while earning a degree in kinesiology.

In 2007 Chas made the transition to MMA when he started training at Legends MMA in Fort Worth, Texas under coaches Matt Hume and Mario Bravo. He made his professional debut later that year defeating David Bey by submission just 1:14 into round 1 of their fight. Chas continued to impress finishing 8 out of 9 opponents via submission which earned him his first major promotion contract with Bellator Fighting Championships where he had 2 fights winning both by unanimous decision putting together an incredible 7 win streak from 2011 –2014 .

In 2015 Skelly moved onto the big leagues as he signed with UFC; During this time period Chas experienced some ups and downs going 4 -4 but still managed to show off his unique fighting style getting 3 performance bonuses one for Fight Of The Night (vs Maximo Blanco), Submission Of The Night (vs Jim Alers) & Knockout Of The Night (vs Jordan Rinaldi). One of Skellys biggest accomplishments came during 2018 when after losing 3 straight fights via split decision ,he would go on defeat Bobby Moffett via Split Decision making it 5 wins out of 6 decisions being decided by split or majority leaving many fans wondering how different things may have been had those bouts gone either way . As we enter 2021 Chas looks forward to continuing to be successful inside the octagon as well as outside working with organizations such as Cowboys Fit ,Project Mayhem & F2W Pro Wrestling doing speaking engagements talking about not only martial arts but also how important maintaining mental health is especially during covid times .
