Tre' McKitty's Biography

Tre’ Roosevelt McKitty is an accomplished professional football player, recognized for his tight end position. Born on January 12, 1999, McKitty is presently a free agent, tracing his successful career which has journeyed through the college football field at Georgia as well as Florida State to making his mark professional football.

Raised in Wesley Chapel, Florida, McKitty initiated his high school career at Wesley Chapel High School. After completing his freshman year, he transferred to the IMG Academy located in Bradenton, Florida. During his senior year, he demonstrated his future potential by recording exceptional stats, making 25 receptions for 341 yards and scoring four touchdowns. As his high school journey came to a close, McKitty had the opportunity to choose between Oregon and Auburn, with both having offered him a place in their teams. However, he initially chose to commit to playing college football at Oregon.

Neithertheless, McKitty’s journey took a different turn, as he eventually decommitted from Oregon, instead, choosing to commit to Florida State where he played as part of the Florida State Seminoles for three impressive seasons. Throughout his freshman year at Florida state, McKitty left his mark by participating in 11 games and achieving one reception for 23 yards.

McKitty continued to improve in his sophomore year, making 26 catches for 256 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Completing his junior season at Florida State with 23 receptions for 241 yards, McKitty graduated a year early. As his college journey came to an end, he decided to enter the transfer portal.

Entering a new phase in his career, McKitty transferred to Georgia Bulldogs, where he could participate immediately due to his status as a graduate transfer. Shortly after joining the Bulldogs, he demonstrated his ability to adapt and excel, becoming a starter for Georgia three games into the 2020 season. By the end of his tenure with the Bulldogs, he had made six receptions for 108 yards, including a touchdown, a testament to McKitty’s growing prowess on the playing field.

As McKitty wrapped up his college career, he stepped into the professional world of American football. He was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 3rd round, 97th overall, of the 2021 NFL draft. By July 27, 2021, he officially signed his four-year rookie contract with the Chargers.

However, two years into his time with the Chargers, McKitty was released on October 31, 2023. A week later, on November 7, the Buffalo Bills signed him to their practice squad. His exceptional talents were once again recognized, and he signed a reserve/future contract on January 22, 2024.

Despite his ongoing improvement, McKitty’s time with the Bills concluded during the final roster cuts, and he was released on August 27, 2024. Today, McKitty stands as a free agent, empowered by his vast experience and exceptional skills as a professional football player.

In addition to his successful football career, McKitty takes pride in his Jamaican heritage.
