Taylor Bertolet Bio
Taylor Bertolet is a football placekicker who played college football at Texas A&M and made his NFL regular-season debut with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. Born October 24, 1992, he comes from Reading, Pennsylvania, and attended Exeter Township High School before joining the Aggies.
After redshirting in 2011, Bertolet played for Texas A&M from 2012 through 2015. His college responsibilities included placekicking and kickoff duties, and the program highlighted his leg strength. He also earned SEC Academic Honor Roll recognition while studying psychology. His background reflects experience both attempting scoring kicks and handling the specialist role on kickoffs.
Bertolet joined the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in May 2016. His subsequent path included time with the Denver Broncos and a May 2018 signing with the New York Jets. Outside the NFL, he kicked for the Salt Lake Stallions in 2019, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2021 and the New Orleans Breakers in 2022.
The Chargers signed Bertolet to their practice squad on October 6, 2022, and elevated him on October 8. He made his NFL regular-season debut against Cleveland on October 9, a milestone that followed his earlier NFL opportunities and experience in other professional leagues.
