Stone Smartt's Biography

Stone Cole Smartt, a celebrated American professional football tight end, was born on the 4th of October, 1998. He blossomed brilliantly on the home ground of the United States and has proved to be a formidable force in the National Football League. However, his journey up the ladder was not without sweat and tension. The illustrious career of Cole was marked by playing for several teams, but currently, he remains a crucial part of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Coming from a simple yet humble background, his athletic journey kickstarted during his high school days at Del Oro in Loomis, California. Here, he explored his talent as a quarterback, managing a commendable feat of 3,021 yards from scrimmage with an impressive 29 touchdowns. His leadership qualities came to the forefront when he took his team to the Division II-AA State title championship in 2015-16, beating Camarillo quite handsomely by 16-13.

Carrying forward his winning streak in 2016-17, Smartt showcased his exceptional play-calling skills, leading his school team Del Oro to the Division 1-A state championship game against San Clemente. It was not only in the football field that Smartt left his stamp; he proved to be an excellent basketball player. Serving as a point guard for the Del Oro boys’ basketball team, Smartt proved his versatility in sports, highlighting his agility and quick decision-making abilities.

In 2017, Stone Cole Smartt took a significant step towards his dream by committing to the Northern Arizona University for playing college football. The start wasn’t as promising as expected. As a freshman at NAU, he was restricted to just 2 games. Not being the one to give up easily, Smartt was determined to make a stronger comeback.

In 2018, he embraced the change and transferred to Riverside City. This year marked the start of a noteworthy career as he played in 12 games. He shone brightly, completing 177 out of 277 for 2,754 yards, scripting 31 touchdowns. His rushing records also improved, with an outstanding 583-yards and nine touchdowns. This achievement placed him as the leading California JUCO quarterback in passing efficiency.

Cole’s stepping stone to success was decorated with numerous awards. Being named First-Team JUCO All-American, he won many hearts alongside the coveted SoCal Regional Playoff MVP, SCFA Offensive Player of the Year, and California State Offensive Player of the Year. He created new records in Riverside City history for most completions in a season, highest completion percentage, most passing yards in a season and career, and most touchdown passes in a quarter. The icing on the cake was when he won the NJCAA Athletic Bureau Offensive Player of the Year.

In the following year, 2019, he decided to transfer to Old Dominion, marking a significant shift in his career. This shifting phase did not just represent a new team; it demanded a changed role as well. In 2021, he bid adieu to the quarterback position, embracing the wide receiver role.

2022 brought another surprise when he went undrafted in the NFL Draft. Nonetheless, his resilience and potential scored him a place in the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite the ups and downs, Stone Cole Smartt has proved he is a force to be reckoned with in American professional football and continues to passionately pursue his career in the NFL.
