Born on December 3, 1997, Roderick Perry II is a professional American football player known for his exceptional skills as a nose tackle. Currently associated with the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League (IFL), Perry’s football journey is filled with trials and triumphs.

His football career really began to take root during his college years. He played for two esteemed college football teams, the South Carolina State Bulldogs and the Illinois Fighting Illini. His formative years in college football were instrumental in developing his defensive skills and game-reading ability, preparing him for the professional scenario he would later find himself in.

Perry didn’t find an immediate entry into the NFL when he went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, but that didn’t deter his determination. His professional journey took off when he signed with the Cleveland Browns on May 1, 2022. After being waived by the Browns on August 30, he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad the very next day. His diligent efforts and natural talent were recognized when he was promoted to the active roster on November 12, 2022. After being waived on November 14, he was once again re-signed to the practice squad, where he continued his pursuit to make a mark in the world of professional football.

Perry began the New Year of 2023 with great news; he signed a reserve/future contract with the Browns on January 9. Unfortunately, he was waived once again on May 15. Despite the setback, Perry’s spirit remained unshaken, and he continued to stay focused on carving out a place for himself in the world of American football. He displayed his tenacity when, on July 25, 2023, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Even after being waived on August 1, he persisted and was re-signed by the Seahawks just five days later. Despite being waived on August 29, Perry’s resilience never wavered.

October 26, 2023, marked a new chapter in Perry’s career when he signed with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. The brand of the Roughnecks later transferred to the Houston Gamblers following the merger of XFL and the United States Football League, forming the United Football League (UFL).

In the 2024 UFL dispersal draft held on January 5, Perry was chosen by the Arlington Renegades. Although he was waived on March 21, it wasn’t long before he was staking claim to new turf. On April 15, 2024, Perry signed with the Duke City Gladiators of the Indoor Football League (IFL). He was released on June 19, but he didn’t stay sidelined for long.

The very next day, June 20, 2024, Perry was signed by the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League (IFL). This marked the current phase of Perry’s professional journey, continuously exhibiting his impressive skills as a nose tackle and shaping his sports career.
