Richard Christopher Rodgers II is an American professional football player who has made a name for himself in the National Football League (NFL). Born on January 22, 1992, in Martinez, California, he ascended to fame as a tight end known for his impressive athletic abilities and team spirit.

Early Life

Rodgers was born to Richard and Mindy Rodgers. His father, Richard Sr., was a notable defensive back who played for the University of California, Berkeley, and is most famously known for his role in “The Play,” a historic multi-lateral kickoff return in the 1982 game against Stanford. Richard Rodgers Sr. later became a special teams coordinator in the NFL, filling his son’s early life with strong football influence.

Rodgers attended St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, where he showcased his talent nationwide by scoring 13 touchdowns, making 45 receptions, and covering over 720 yards in his junior year. Philadelphia Eagles (2018 – 2019)

Rodgers was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 after leaving the Packers. However, due to an injury during the pre-season training camp, he started the season on injured reserve and was not activated until mid-November. The following year, 2019, he signed another one-year contract with the Eagles.

Washington Football Team (2020 – Present)

In 2020, Rodgers signed with the Washington Football Team and played as a backup to fellow tight end Logan Thomas.
