Nate McCrary, an accomplished American professional football running back, was born on April 9, 1999. Currently associated with the Michigan Panthers of the United Football League (UFL), he has built a remarkable career in the football industry, demonstrating determination, resilience, and extraordinary athleticism. McCrary embarked on his football journey playing college football at Saginaw Valley State. During his time there, he participated in 33 games, displaying his prowess as a running back. He recorded impressive stats, rushing the ball 377 times for 1,889 yards and scoring 28 touchdowns. In his final and arguably most successful season as a junior, he set career highs with 1,060 yards and an average of 6.3 yards per carry. This exceptional performance earned him a place on the All-GLIAC First-team and a fourth place on the SVSU career rushing touchdowns all-time list.

Upon completing his college career, McCrary entered the professional football league. His talents were recognized by the Baltimore Ravens who signed him as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2021. As a testament to his skills, McCrary became the Ravens’ leading rusher in the preseason, amassing 163 yards and a touchdown from 42 carries. However, in what was a blow to his nascent NFL career, he was waived by the Ravens on August 31, 2021.

Within a day, fortune smiled on McCrary once more as he was claimed off waivers by the Denver Broncos on September 1, 2021. His stint with the Broncos was short-lived, however, as he was released on September 23, 2021. This did not deter McCrary, and he got back into action two days later, signing with the Ravens’ practice squad. He started the following year on a high note, signing a reserve/future contract with the Ravens on January 18, 2022. His second tenure with the Ravens came to an end on August 30, 2022, when he was once again waived by the team.

Remaining undeterred, McCrary shifted to the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad on November 1, 2022. This opportunity turned out to be merely a short stint, as he was released on December 13. As the year 2023 rolled in, McCrary kept the momentum going by signing a reserve/future contract with the Cleveland Browns on January 11. However, his journey was marked by another setback as he was waived by the Browns on August 4, 2023.

Despite the challenges, McCrary bounced back resiliently, signing with the Green Bay Packers on August 7, 2023. Unfortunately, he was released within a month on August 29, 2023. McCrary rejoined the Browns’ practice squad on October 25, 2023, but was released again after six days.

On December 8, 2023, McCrary shifted gears, signing with the Michigan Panthers, a team in the United States Football League (USFL). Despite showing promise in the Panthers, McCrary’s contract was terminated on August 13, 2024, to facilitate his signing with an NFL team.

McCrary returned to the NFL landscape, signing with the Green Bay Packers for a second time on August 14, 2024. His association was short-lived; he was released on August 27, 2024, and immediately re-signed to the practice squad. Unfortunately, he was placed on practice squad/injured reserve a few days later and was subsequently released.
