Kion Smith Bio
Kion Smith is an American football offensive lineman from Lumberton, North Carolina. He attended Lumberton High School before playing at Fayetteville State University, where he became a three-year starter across the 2016, 2017 and 2019 seasons. Smith earned first-team All-CIAA honors in 2019 and was recognized for his dependable work on the Broncos’ offensive line.
Smith went undrafted in 2021 and initially signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted college free agent. He joined the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad on September 2, 2021, and remained with the organization through multiple practice-squad, reserve/future and active-roster transactions. Miami listed him primarily as a tackle, while later team materials identified him as an offensive lineman capable of working at both guard and tackle. His NFL path reflects persistence and positional versatility rather than a single fixed role.
The Dolphins listed Smith at 6 feet 5 inches and recorded his birth date as October 7, 1998. He made his NFL debut with Miami in 2023 and later spent part of the 2025 season with the Dolphins. On August 6, 2026, the San Francisco 49ers announced a one-year deal with Smith, but the club’s transactions page subsequently listed him among players released.
