Jacob Henry Eason, born on November 17, 1997, is a gifted American football quarterback who was an active free agent as of the last update. His journey in football spans from high school, through college, and ultimately to the National Football League (NFL).

Born to parents Tony and Christine Eason and raised in Lake Stevens, Washington, Jacob Eason displayed a considerable amount of talent from an early age. His father, Tony Eason, also played college football at the University of Notre Dame. His freshman year at Lake Stevens High School saw him participate in only four games, but he still managed to complete 21 out of 50 pass attempts for a tasting total of 458 yards, with four touchdowns and one interception.

Eason’s talent continued to bloom in the subsequent years. In his sophomore year, he played ten games, completing 209 out of his 350 total passes with 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His junior year was even more impressive when he completed 68.6% of his passes, led his team to a 9-2 record, and was named the Junior of the Year by Rivals in 2014. This upward trend persisted until his senior year, marking him as one of the most outstanding high school quarterbacks with a career total of 9,813 passing yards, 102 touchdown passes, and 18 interceptions in 38 games.

His remarkable high school career left him highly sought after by colleges across the nation. With offers from Florida, Miami, Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and many others, Eason ultimately committed to the University of Georgia, ranked by Rivals as the top quarterback in the nation and the seventh top prospect nationally.

Eason’s college career took off in 2016 when he enrolled at Georgia, and despite not being the initial starting quarterback, he quickly made his strong presence felt by successfully completing 8 of 12 passes to achieve 131 passing yards and his first career collegiate touchdown. He continued to perform exceptionally well, even leading Georgia to a comeback victory over Missouri. Even amidst a season marred with injuries and relocations, Eason’s skill on the field never faltered.

At the end of the 2017 season, Eason transferred to the University of Washington, resulting in him sitting out the 2018 season. However, by the 2019 season, he became the starting quarterback and played a pivotal role in leading his team to victory in various games. He ended his college career on a high note by announcing his intention to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

In the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Eason was selected by the Indianapolis Colts. While his initial position was the third-string quarterback, various factors led him to win the backup position in the 2021 season. Although he did not manage to secure a prominent place in the team, he had glimpses of his potential during his debut game and later roles.

His journey with the Colts came to a halt abruptly as he was waived in October 2021. However, this setback did not dampen his spirits as he went on to be claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks. Further stints occurred with the Carolina Panthers and the San Francisco 49ers, which showcased Eason’s resilience and unrelenting drive to succeed.
