Gus Edwards (born in 1994) is an American football running back for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. He played college football at Rutgers University and was drafted by the Ravens in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Edwards was born and raised in Staten Island, New York, where he attended Tottenville High School where he starred on both offense and defense as a linebacker. As a senior, Edwards led his team to its first ever city title after rushing for over 1,300 yards while earning All-State honors. After graduating high school, Edwards decided to stay close to home and attend Rutgers University to continue his football career under then head coach Kyle Flood.

At Rutgers, Edwards flourished as an impact player early on; starting nine games during his freshman season while helping lead the Scarlet Knights to their second bowl game win in program history with over 80 yards rushing against North Carolina Central in 2014 Shriners Hospitals Bowl. In 2015 Edwards finished third on his team’s scoring list with five touchdowns that year while recording 618 rushing yards behind Robert Martin who led Rutgers’ ground attack with 958 yards that year.
