Easton Stick's Biography

Born on September 15, 1995, Easton Michael Stick is a renowned American professional football quarterback. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Chargers, a team in the National Football League (NFL). Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Stick’s football journey began at Creighton Preparatory School. Upon his graduation from high school, he enrolled at North Dakota State University where he played college football.

While at North Dakota State, Stick had an impressive college football career, managing to carve a niche in the sport. As a starter for his college team, the North Dakota State Bison, he had an outstanding record of 49-3. This phenomenal record made him the starting quarterback with the most wins in the history of the Football Championship Subdivision. Undeniably, Stick’s remarkable performance raised his profile, introducing him to the highly competitive space of professional football.

In 2019, Stick made a significant stride in his football career when the Los Angeles Chargers selected him in the fifth round of the NFL draft. Despite being picked as the 166th overall, Stick’s entry to the Chargers marked an important milestone in his career. During his first season with the team, he participated actively in the preseason snappings but did not appear in any regular season games.

As the 2020 season commenced, expectations were high that Stick would transition to the position of a backup quarterback, replacing Tyrod Taylor. Despite this, Stick was given a chance to showcase his capabilities during the third week of the regular season. Stick’s first game action came in the seventh week of the season when he was called in to replace an injured Herbert. Despite a brief appearance in the game, Stick managed to complete a four-yard pass and had a rush, albeit for a negative two yards.

In March 2023, the Chargers, evidently impressed by Stick’s contribution to the team, re-signed him for another year. Stick continued to serve in his backup role for Herbert. His moment to shine returned in a game against the Denver Broncos in the season’s 14th week when Herbert suffered a finger injury. In what marked his first appearance since 2020, Stick managed to throw for 179 yards despite the Chargers’ 24-7 loss to the Broncos.

December 12 proved to be a turning point for Stick as he was announced the Chargers’ new starting quarterback. This revelation came after it was unveiled that Herbert would have to undergo a season-ending surgery. Stick started in the four final games of the Chargers’ 2023 season. Although the team experienced losses in all these games, Stick’s individual performance saw him pass for a total of 1,129 yards, alongside three touchdowns and one interception. He also got credit for a rushing touchdown.

In March 2024, the successful partnership between Stick and the Chargers was further cemented as he was re-signed for another season with the team.
