D'vonte Price's Biography

D’Vonte Price was born on June 2, 1999, and is now a well-known professional football player with quite a journey in the sporting world. Currently a free agent and a remarkable running back, Price carves a path that many upcoming athletes can learn from.

Originating from Punta Gorda, Florida, D’Vonte Price spent his early years engaging in sports. His athletic prowess became evident during his years at Charlotte High School. Over the course of his time there, Price played a total of 32 games and subsequently left an indelible mark by achieving an impressive record. He attained 1,265 rushing yards and scored 23 touchdowns, foreshadowing the sporting journey that was to unfold in the future.

Post his high school, Price’s football career substantially progressed as he stepped onto the collegiate field with the FIU Panthers. However, his first two seasons saw him playing primarily as a backup running back, an opportunity that came with the occasional starts.

Stepping into his junior year, Price began leaving his mark. He gained 249 yards on 50 carries and caught ten passes for 49 yards in total. As the COVID-19 pandemic took a toll globally, it also had ramifications on the sporting world. During the 2020 season, shortened because of the health crisis, Price displayed commendable performance. In five games, he rushed in 581 yards and scored four touchdowns over 85 carries.

Though the year 2021 presented him the opportunity to declare for the NFL Draft, Price had a different plan. He decided to exploit the additional year of eligibility granted because of the pandemic to college athletes who played during the 2020 season. Thus, he returned to the FIU for a fifth season. Price concluded his final season with a bang, rushing 128 times, accounting for 682 yards, and scoring six touchdowns, further solidifying his position in the team.

On the 30th day of April in 2022, Price signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent. However, his tenure with the Colts was short-lived as he was waived on August 30th. The very next day, he was signed to the practice squad.

On October 15th, he was included in the active roster for the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 6 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This came as a result of injuries to starting running backs Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines. Price made his debut by playing two snaps, both on special teams, although he did not manage to register a tackle.

However, his practice squad deal terminated on January 16th, 2023. This event led D’Vonte Price back to the status of being a free agent. Nevertheless, his robust career trajectory, filled with steady growth and monumental on-field milestones, promises a prosperous future in the world of football.
