Christopher Hinton is an American football defensive lineman from Johns Creek, Georgia. Born September 14, 2000, he played at Greater Atlanta Christian School before joining Michigan, where he lined up on the defensive front from 2019 through 2021. Michigan listed him at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, and he earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition in his final season. Hinton is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Chris Hinton.
Hinton entered pro football as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and had NFL stops with the Giants, Dolphins, Falcons and Chargers. With Los Angeles, he was used as an interior defensive lineman and contributed in run support; the Chargers carried him on their practice squad during 2024, signed him to a reserve/future contract in January 2025, and later waived him during the 2025 preseason. The Louisville Kings selected Hinton as a defensive-tackle free-agent signing in the UFL’s January 2026 draft process. His most recently verified team transaction was Louisville releasing him on March 19, 2026, so he should not be described as a current Chargers player.
