College Career

Though his football exposure began late compared to most of his peers, Harris accepted a scholarship from Gary Pinkel to play for the Missouri Tigers, marking the commencement of his college football career. During his red shirted freshmen year, Harris acted as a backup defensive end, recording 19 tackles, four for loss, and two sacks.

By 2014, Harris had his breakout season. He earned his first career start against South Dakota State and finished the season with 55 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries, earning him a reputation as a formidable player.

His junior year continued to be productive; Harris earned second-team All-SEC honors while leading the Tigers with 18.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He decided to forego his senior year to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.

NFL Career

The Miami Dolphins selected Harris in the first round, as the 22nd overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, marking the transition from his successful college career to his professional career. He was the fifth defensive end drafted that year.

As a rookie during the 2017 season, Harris played all 16 games and accumulated 19 tackles and two sacks. In 2018, he demonstrated marked improvement.
