Bryce Jordan Callahan, born October 23, 1991, is an accomplished American football player known primarily for his pivotal role as a cornerback. Widely recognized as a free agent at this point in his career, Callahan’s journey to the professional world of football started on the scholarly gridirons of Rice University, where he played during his college years. Though he was undrafted following his graduation in 2015, he was quickly signed as a free agent by the respected Chicago Bears squad.

An alumnus of Cypress Woods High School, Callahan made a distinct mark as a promising player during his high school career and was named to the 5A All State First-team and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football’s 2009 All-Texas High School team, anticipating a promising future for the young footballer.

Transitioning into his professional career, Callahan was signed by the Chicago Bears as a free agent on May 2, 2015, following the culmination of the NFL draft. He made a memorable debut in the NFL on September 13, playing against the iconic Green Bay Packers. Despite being briefly waived by the Bears in late September, he was re-signed for the practice squad soon after and was promoted to the active roster by mid-October. By his first season’s end, Callahan had started three games out of nine and had clocked in impressive stats, including 21 tackles, four pass breakups, and a sack.

Despite some injuries, Callahan wrapped up the season with strong performances and achievements, ranking as the 7th highest grade among all cornerbacks, according to Pro Football Focus.

His next leap was a three-year contract with the Denver Broncos worth $21 million, signed in March 2019. Callahan’s stint with the Broncos kicked off amid challenges, hampered by a foot injury carried forward from the previous season which necessitated a surgery. However, he made a stunning comeback in 2020 as the starting slot cornerback, marking his Broncos debut with noteworthy performances against the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, and Los Angeles Chargers.

Entering the 2021 season, Callahan continued to uphold his reputation as a coveted player, retaining his starting slot cornerback post with the Broncos despite significant changes in the team’s line-up. A knee injury in November had him placed on injured reserve briefly, but he powered through, finishing the season appearing in 11 games and recording 29 tackles. Post this, Bryce Callahan penned a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers in May of 2022, setting records for career-high metrics alongside contributing to the team’s gameplay efforts.
