Arron Mosby's Biography

Arron Mosby, born April 13, 1999, is an American-born professional football defensive end who was first signed by the Carolina Panthers in 2022 after not being drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. As of now, he is a part of the Green Bay Packers, a well-known franchise of the National Football League (NFL).

Born in Fresno, California, Mosby’s interest in football began at an early age and developed during his time at Sanger Union High School. He played as a double threat, being a two-way starter. He took on the crucial roles of wide receiver on offense and cornerback on defense, showcasing his versatility, dexterity, and innate understanding of the game. It was here where Mosby received critical acclaim – he was awarded all-league honors twice as a defensive back and chosen first-team all-CMAC during his senior year in 2016. Furthermore, Fresno Bee, the major news outlet of his birth city, named him an all-star player.

Upon Mosby’s graduation, he committed to Fresno State University and attained a place in the team as a true freshman. He played in every game, mainly serving as a special teamer, and made five tackles in fourteen games. In 2018, his sophomore year, Mosby marked his progress in the sport with 12 tackles and a timely interception while playing in 13 games.

The most exciting feat arrived when he returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown against San Jose State. It was the fourth-longest interception in the history of Fresno State. In 2019, the young player recorded 78 tackles as a junior.

However, the subsequent year was marred by the COVID-19 pandemic, truncating the 2020 football season. Mosby played all six games and recorded 21 tackles. The unprecedented situation extended an extra year of eligibility to all players. Mosby chose to return in 2021 for his fifth year as a player, transitioning to play as a defensive end.

In his 2021 season, Mosby’s contributions to the team were exceptional. He topped the charts with 40 tackles, six sacks, six forced fumbles, two recoveries, and a leading 15.5 tackles-for-loss, confirming his spot as an honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference. His stellar performance won him invitations to the Hula Bowl and the NFLPA All-Star Game following the end of the season.

Unfortunately, Mosby did not find a suitable spot in the 2022 NFL draft. Nevertheless, the Carolina Panthers recognized his potential and enlisted him as an undrafted free agent. Though he was initially waived, he rejoined the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad.

On August 3, 2023, Mosby found a new home with the Green Bay Packers after getting claimed off waivers. His NFL prowess was on full display during the preseason finale against the Baltimore Ravens on August 24, 2024, where he strip-sacked rookie quarterback Devin Leary. The play resulted in a touchdown, courtesy of teammate Anthony Johnson Jr. Mosby went on to seize another remarkable achievement on the same day, intercepting a pass from Leary. This marked the upturn in his career, with Mosby earning a spot on the Packers’ initial 53-man roster for the season.
