Alex Wright is an NFL defensive end for the Cleveland Browns. As of September 15, 2026, Cleveland lists Wright, wearing No. 91, on its reserve/injured list. He is listed at 6-foot-5 and 267 pounds and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Wright was born on May 5, 2000, in Elba, Alabama. The Browns selected Alex Wright in the third round, 78th overall, of the 2022 NFL Draft.
At UAB, Wright developed as an edge defender whose length, power and disruptive movement helped him pressure quarterbacks and defend the perimeter. He earned Conference USA All-Freshman recognition and later received second-team all-conference honors as a junior. His college career led to an early entry into the NFL Draft, where Cleveland made him one of its selections near the top of the third round. In the Browns’ defensive front, Wright has been used as a versatile defensive-end presence capable of setting the edge while also attacking the pocket.
