Albert Huggins's Biography

Albert Huggins Jr., a reputable name in the American football landscape, was born on the 27th of June in 1997. His ascent to professional football began in Clemson where he played as a college football player. Albert is regarded for his proficiency as a nose tackle position, providing his teams with an impeccable defense strategy.

In 2019, his journey into professional football officially commenced. On May 10, he bypassed the projections of many by signing with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent. Despite being waived during the final roster cuts on the 31st of August that same year, his soccer skills landed him on the team’s practice squad on September 2.

His stint with the Houston Texans led to his subsequent signing by the Philadelphia Eagles on the 21st of October of the same year. This energy-infused inclusion lasted for four games after which he was waived on the 30th of November. Albert’s resilience and unwavering dedication endowed him with a rebound after being claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots. Regrettably, this phase came to an end with his waiving on December 7.

In what seemed like a tug of war between the professional teams, Albert Huggins Jr. was later signed to the Eagles practice squad, and subsequently signed a reserve/future contract with the Eagles on January 6, 2020. However, in a twist of fate on July 26, 2020, he was waived and was soon after claimed by the Texans the next day.

His journey continued as he found himself waived and claimed once again on August 31. His journey took him to the Detroit Lions on September 1, 2020, but was unable to solidify a spot and was waived just days later.

Undeterred by plot twists, on September 8, 2020, he proceeded to sign with the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad. Barely a month later, in October, he was released from the Vikings only to be signed again by the Lions practice squad. He was subsequently released and re-signed within a short span. His stint with the Lions evolved into an active role for games against the Texans and Vikings.

May 6, 2021, marked a fresh chapter in the young footballer’s career as he signed with the New Orleans Saints. Despite being waived in August, he made a comeback on September 11, 2021, when he re-signed to the active roster. Amid the topsy-turvy dynamics of professional football, he again found himself waiving and re-signing with the Saints multiple times.

Unfortunate events struck in 2022 when an undisclosed injury during the Saints’ final preseason game landed him on the injured reserve list. Amid the recovery process and the subsequent free agent status, another opportunity arrived as he signed with the Atlanta Falcons on June 16, 2023, wherein he competed in 13 games with five starts and recorded 22 tackles as a rotational defensive tackle.

Showing his persistence and dedication, he was signed by the notable Dallas Cowboys on August 6, 2024, but yet again faced the harsh reality of professional sports when he was waived a few weeks later.
