Anthony “T.J.” Warren Jr. was born on September 5, 1993, in Durham, North Carolina. A native of the Tar Heel State, he has become an accomplished professional basketball player, revered for his scoring prowess and impact in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Currently, Warren is part of the Westchester Knicks, a team in the NBA G League. His journey to becoming a pro was carefully crafted starting from his high school years, through his impressive college career, and eventually to the NBA.

Warren’s basketball journey began at Riverside High School in Durham, swapping schools multiple times before graduating from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Before moving to New Hampshire, he averaged 14 points per game at Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, leading his team to a 24-3 season record. At Brewster Academy, Warren’s dominance continued, earning First Team All New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) honors and steering his team towards the National Prep Championship. With his exceptional high school performance, Warren’s name was ranked 32 on the MaxPreps Class of 2012 Top 100 list, igniting interest from numerous colleges.

Upon graduating high school, Warren started his remarkable college career at North Carolina State University (NC State), making an official commitment on November 2, 2011. As a freshman, he made an immediate impact, landing a spot on the ACC All-Freshmen Team. His extraordinary rookie year saw a breakout performance against Florida State, where he scored 31 points and secured 13 rebounds.

Warren returned for his sophomore year, honing his skills and showcasing his talent in a more prominent role. He had career pinnacles in points with 41 against Pittsburgh and 42 against Boston College, leading the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament. His sophomore year culminated in an average of 24.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, earning him recognition as ACC Player of the Year.

Entering the 2014 NBA Draft, Warren was a highly sought-after prospect. He opted to forego his final two years of eligibility with the NC State Wolfpack and was selected as the 14th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns. His initial NBA campaign was notable, scoring 17 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves and a season-high 18 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After five fruitful seasons with the Suns, Warren was traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2019. It was in the NBA bubble in 2020 that he exhibited a breakout performance, averaging 31 points per game and recording a career-high tally of 53 points in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, a series of injuries disrupted his stint with the Pacers, leading him to transfer to the Brooklyn Nets in 2022, and then back to the Suns in 2023.
