Donte DiVincenzo

Donte DiVincenzo (born January 31, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born and raised in Newark, Delaware, he played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats. He was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament after leading Villanova to its second national championship in three seasons with a victory against Michigan.

DiVincenzo began his high school career playing at St. Mark’s High School before transferring to Salesianum School as a sophomore. As a senior, he led Salesianum to its first state championship appearance since 1998 and won both Delaware Gatorade Player of the Year and Associated Press All-State honors. He committed to play college basketball for Jay Wright at Villanova University in 2015 despite having never been offered a scholarship by any major Division I program prior to that point.

In his freshman season at Villanova, DiVincenzo demonstrated significant potential on both ends of the court as he averaged 8 points per game while shooting 44% from beyond the arc and providing strong defense off the bench. While his numbers improved over time, it was during his junior year when DiVancenzo truly broke out; with averages of 13 points per game along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists on 49% shooting from behind the arc over 36 games—all career highs—he earned Big East Sixth Man Award honors in 2017-18 season before being named Most Outstanding Player of March Madness later that same year following one of greatest single game performances in NCAA tournament history (31 points on 10-15 shooting against Michigan). In total he spent three seasons with Wildcats where he ended up averaging 11..2 PPG, 4 RPG & 2 APG across 116 appearances overall .

Following this impressive collegiate pedigree which saw him earn many individual awards along with two national championships for Wildcats , Donte declared himself eligible for 2019 NBA Draft where Milwaukee Bucks selected him 17th overall . After some minor knee surgery delayed start to rookie year , Divicnzeno has had solid if unspectacular beginnings towards forming role within Bucks squad & can be best described as decent spot up shooter combined with strong defensive effort who hasn’t yet found consistency needed within NBA environment but still has plenty time ahead him adjust & develop into more reliable option moving forward .
