Steven Adams

Steven Adams is a New Zealand professional basketball center for the Houston Rockets as of September 14, 2026. Born July 20, 1993, in Rotorua, New Zealand, Adams is listed at 6 feet 11 inches and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He entered the NBA after one college season and was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 12th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Adams earned All-Rookie Team recognition and established himself as a physical, team-oriented interior player.

Adams began his NBA career with Oklahoma City before later playing for the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies. Houston acquired him from Memphis in a trade dated February 1, 2024, and the Rockets’ current team information lists him as a center wearing number 12.
