BIOGRAPHY
Aaron Holiday is a professional basketball player in the NBA who currently plays for the Indiana Pacers. Born on September 30th, 1996, Aaron is the youngest of three brothers; his brother Jrue currently plays for the Milwaukee Bucks and his other brother Justin was drafted out of UCLA by the Chicago Bulls in 2018. Growing up, sports were always an integral part of life in the Holiday household seeing as how all three brothers became professional athletes. Before playing professionally, Aaron attended Campbell Hall School where he played basketball and was named California Division IV Player of The Year as a senior. He then went on to commit to college at UCLA where he had a standout career over three seasons finishing with averages of 12 points per game (ppg), 4 assists per game (apg), and 3 rebounds per game (rpg). After deciding to forgo his senior year at UCLA and declare for the NBA Draft early, he was selected 23rd overall by Indiana in 2018 becoming their first draft pick since 2013 when they took Solomon Hill out of Arizona.
Since joining Indiana prior to last season Aaron has been able to carve out an important role off their bench while displaying glimpses that suggest even greater things could be in store down-the-line. His rookie season saw him put up respectable numbers with 6ppg, 2apg & 1rpg despite being limited primarily due to backcourt depth issues throughout much of it resulting from injuries suffered by both Victor Oladipo & Darren Collison amongst others. As such there weren’t many opportunities presented especially during crunch time late games which limited what we were able to see from him over those 48 appearances leading some skeptics into believing that perhaps selecting him so early wasn’t really worth it after all but this past season changed all that opinion real quickly though thanks mostly due Tyreke Evans’ 10 game suspension which thrust Aaron into an elevated role more so than expected early on providing us our best look yet at what kind of player he can become longterm now equipped with starting experience under his belt already
This past campaign saw Aaron take significant strides forward elevating himself statistically across every major counting category averaging 10ppg , 3apg & 2rpg while also shooting 38% from deep – nearly double what it had been just one year prior – essentially holding down the fort admirably until Victor returned eventually supplanting Cory Joseph as starter near season’s end showing tangible signs that suggest brighter days indeed lie ahead if he continues along this trajectory moving ahead into 2020-21 and beyond Despite being only 23 years old entering next year Holiday will have no shortage competition within Indy’s backcourt with Jeremy Lamb added alongside returnees like Malcolm Brogdan/Victor providing stiff opposition not only playing time wise but also financially seeing as how much money these players are about make too further complicating matters since there’s still speculation floating around hinting at potential trades involving either Malcolm or Victor although nothing definitive has come through public channels just yet
