Mikal Bridges is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats, winning two NCAA championships. Bridges was selected by the Suns with the tenth overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. His versatility has earned him respect among peers and coaches alike.

Bridges grew up in Malvern, Pennsylvania as one of four siblings. He attended Great Valley High School where he starred on their varsity basketball team and led them to a PIAA AAA State Championship in 2014. Following his senior season, Bridges was named Mr. PA Basketball and placed on several All-American teams including Parade Magazine’s 2014 All-America Team.

Bridges chose to attend Villanova University where he mainly played small forward but also had multiple stints at other positions including point guard due to injuries suffered by teammates or foul trouble during games. During his time at Nova he helped lead them to two national championships along with being named Big East Player of The Year twice which is a record shared only by Hall Of Fame center Patrick Ewing who accomplished this feat while playing for Georgetown University back in 1984 & 1985 respectively .
