BIOGRAPHY
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Caldwell-Pope was born on February 18, 1993 in Thomaston, Georgia. He attended Greenville High School in Georgia before playing one season of college basketball with the University of Georgia Bulldogs. After a solid freshman year at UGA, he declared for the 2013 NBA Draft and was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the eighth overall pick.
Caldwell-Pope immediately made an impact with his impressive shooting ability as a rookie in Detroit. He averaged 10 points per game and shot 35% from three in his first season and improved these numbers every subsequent year he remained with Detroit. In 2017, Kentavious signed with the Lakers as a free agent which allowed him to take on more responsibility as a leader in Los Angeles’s younger core group of players led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Throughout his career so far, Caldwell-Pope has consistently been one of LA’s most reliable perimeter shooters while also providing plenty of defensive energy off ball screens or when defending opposing guards/wings full court press defense style due to his long strides & quickness on both ends of floor.. He also exhibited great athleticism & ball handling skills that make it difficult for other defenders to keep up when driving towards basket during transition offense opportunities leading toward easy layups or open 3 point jump shots close near hoop area rim line.. His consistent playmaking abilities have allowed him to fit into different role playing spots throughout various lineups including Lakers starting lineup combinations alongside superstars such Anthony Davis & LeBron James plus core pieces like Rajon Rondo & Kyle Kuzma .
As Caldwell Pope continues along within this current 2020 NBA season still remains under contract extension agreement terms until 2021 summertime period where could possibly become either unrestricted free agent then sign another deal elsewhere if desired or just choose stay remain within same organization team setup provided contract renewal offer meets expectations likes etc., ultimately should know soon enough what happens next future plans holds waiting view unfolding events times come pass before months end this summer 2021 date.. Looking ahead hopefully can continue progress grow even further than ever imagined imagine himself especially since entering league back during 2013 draft night moment over seven years ago now looking back…
