He led his team to the Class 4A state title game, displaying strong leadership skills and tireless determination. His outstanding performance couldn’t go unnoticed and he was honored once again as the Catholic League MVP. His high-school triumphs attracted attention from well-known universities. After weighing several options from reputable schools such as Villanova, UConn, Clemson, and Pittsburgh, he committed to playing college basketball for the Miami (Florida) Hurricanes.

In his freshman year with the Miami Hurricanes, Wong shone in one match against Virginia Tech, where he scored a season-high 27 points and collected 12 rebounds, helping his team secure a 102-95 victory. His performance during his freshman year was consistently impressive, averaging 7.7 points and three rebounds per game. Wong’s sophomore year was equally as commendable, with a career-high in a game against Louisville of 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, earning him a third-team All-ACC honor.

Despite declaring for the NBA draft in April 2021, Wong chose to stay on for his junior year at the university. He was again named to the third-team All-ACC and established himself as the second-leading scorer on his team. His contributions were instrumental in helping his team reach the Elite Eight of the 2022 NCAA tournament. Upon concluding the season, Wong declared himself for NBA draft, maintaining his eligibility.

2023 was a defining year for Wong as it saw him named ACC Player of the Year and was a key player in taking Miami to their first ever Final Four. His remarkable performance invoked the attention of the Indiana Pacers, and he was selected with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the NBA draft. He then split his time between the Pacers and their G League affiliate, the Indiana Mad Ants, under a two-way contract.

Despite his successful stint with the Pacer, Wong signed with the Utah Jazz in September 2024. After a brief time, he was waived in October and then joined the Salt Lake City Stars at the end of the month.
