Taj Bradley

Taj Ali Bradley, born on March 20, 2001, is an exceptional talent in the world of baseball. Born and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Bradley’s foray into baseball began at a young age, displaying profound enthusiasm and dedication for the sport in his high school years at Redan High School.

During his high school stint, Bradley extensively played as an outfielder and catcher, honing his skills and building a strong foundation. But destiny had other plans for him. His initial commitment was to play college baseball at Hillsborough Community College. However, in a turn of events during his senior year, Bradley decided to change his course towards the University of South Carolina. This shift marked the beginning of his journey as a baseball pitcher.

Bradley’s potential was evident, and his skills attracted attention from Major League Baseball (MLB). In 2018, he was chosen by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fifth round of the MLB draft, placing him on a path towards a professional baseball career. He made his official professional debut with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Rays. Bradley pitched 23 innings during his rookie season, recording a somewhat unsteady 5.09 Earned Run Average (ERA).

In 2019, Bradley continued to raise his game. He played the season with the Rookie-level Princeton Rays of the Appalachian League. During the 11 Starts and 12 total appearances that season, he recorded 2–5 with an ERA of 3.18, showing notable progress in his pitching performance.

The 2021 season marked another significant shift in Bradley’s career. He began the season with a Low-A East Charleston RiverDogs. Demonstrating excellent performance, Bradley went 9–3 with an impressive ERA of 1.76 over 14 starts. The commendable performance earned him a promoted to the High-A East Bowling Green Hot Rods.

In his stint with Bowling Green, Bradley played eight starts showcasing formidable development in his game. He recorded an astonishing 3–0 with a 1.96 ERA, coupled with 42 strikeouts over an inning of 36+1⁄3 indicating the phenomenal talent that he possessed.

The following year, 2022, began with Bradley being assigned to the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. The highlight of the year was when he was selected to play in the prestigious 2022 All-Star Futures Game, a testimony to his growing recognition in the sport. Following the conclusion of the MLB All-Star break, Bradley was promoted to the Triple-A Durham Bulls.

The subsequent year, 2023, started for Bradley on a slightly different note. He was optioned to begin the season with the Triple-A Durham. However, on April 11, the Tampa Bay Rays promoted him to the major leagues, preparing him to make his major league debut the next day.

Bradley’s debut in the major league was, indeed, a spectacle to behold. On April 12, 2023, Bradley started the game, pitching five innings. Throughout the game, he struck out eight, allowing only three runs, thus marking a memorable beginning of his major league career.
