Lauren Betts

Lauren Betts is a 6-foot-7 center for the Washington Mystics as of September 11, 2026. Born October 15, 2003, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, she moved to Colorado as a child and attended Grandview High School. Betts began her college career at Stanford in 2022-23 before transferring to UCLA, where she completed her collegiate career. Washington selected her in the first round, fourth overall, of the 2026 WNBA Draft.

At UCLA, Betts developed into a dominant interior presence and helped lead the Bruins to the 2026 NCAA championship, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player recognition. Her final college season also brought Big Ten Player of the Year and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors. A two-time Lisa Leslie Award winner, Betts projects as a traditional center who can protect the rim, control the paint and create advantages for teammates from the post; UCLA credited her with expanded playmaking responsibility in her senior season. She has also represented the United States in youth international competition, winning gold at the 2019 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the 2021 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup.
